Glencoe was built around 1912 and there had been a few previous extensions.

A considered approach was taken to create a clean, functional, modern extension that would complement and enhance the Old Homestead and forge a greater connection with the surrounding landscape.

Comfort and luxury were a major concern – Sofas and ottomans were custom designed with double layers of cushioning so people can sink into and relax.  Dining table made by mark tuckey and chairs are Hans Wegner Wishbone chairs.

The interiors are a balance between natural textures and materials, dark and white painted walls, black stained panelling, oak detailing and sheer curtains to soften the extensive metal framed windows to the new light filled extension.

 The study/small living room is a cosy retreat for the clients and is wallpapered in pale green grass cloth with beautiful owls prints by Leila Jeffreys.

I was employed to create the visual and aesthetic direction for Glencoe to personalise the transition from old to new.

Previous design elements and details during this time were considered and taken through the design process to create the finished product from hard finishes to soft furnishings, artwork and existing treasures.
